As we indicated earlier this summer, in January, we launched COUHES Connect – an online platform to electronically manage human subjects research protocols. The first release of the platform provided the ability for PIs, researchers and administrators to submit exempt evaluations online and view existing protocols. The COUHES office entered your protocol requests in Kuali Coeus and a nightly feed updated the data to display your protocols in COUHES Connect (The view had a one day delay).
Today, we deployed the second phase of COUHES Connect. The COUHES office has begun using Connect to prepare and submit Comprehensive Review protocols, amendments, renewals and perform all other protocol actions. Working directly in Connect means that you have access to view changes and updates to your protocols immediately.
Shortly after the COUHES office transitions, we will begin a Pilot for departmental users to access COUHES Connect to create and manage their own protocols electronically. Later this fall we will begin the implementation across all MIT departments.
